“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good
to all people,
especially to those
who belong to the
family of
believers.”
Galatians
6:10
Our
church is a special
place…a place
where we gather to
celebrate God's
word, to pray, and
to join in
fellowship one with
another.
A
special place … a
place where we greet
visitors on Sunday
mornings and make
them feel welcome in
God’s house.
A
special place
….have you thought
about what happens
when we leave it at
that special place
until the next
Sunday?
Will
the visitor be back
at Faith again?
Will one of
the members or
visitors wish they
had been asked to
attend an event at
church or within the
community?
Tough
questions I often
ask myself but am I
alone in this?
When have you
reached out to
someone with the
love of Christ in a
positive way?
Can you
remember the last
time you called a
member to tell them
you missed them in
service or sent a
card to let them
know that they were
missed?
How about an
offer to join you
for lunch following
service or for
dinner during the
week sometime?
I’ve
put into motion, for
myself, a “self
check” for
extending not only a
handshake but an
additional
invitation of a
visit for coffee or
lunch; an invitation
to Sunday School, or
one of volunteer
opportunities within
the various groups
associated with
Faith United
Methodist Church.
As
members, please plan
to join with us,
the Evangelism
and Membership Care
Committee, to
“…… reach out
as a church for the
glory of God.”
